Integrating AI Is Creating Business Decisions, Not Just Technology Choices

Tools, requests, and vendor claims are arriving from every direction. Without a business wide view, a decision that helps one team can create more work, risk, or confusion elsewhere.

I examine how work moves across the company and establish a baseline, so AI decisions are based on verified business needs, not product hype.

Together, we clarify:

  • Where AI can make a meaningful difference
  • Existing tools, costs, ownership, and data use
  • Employee readiness and adoption needs
  • Guardrails for data, human review, ownership, and risk
  • The baseline, measures of progress, and remaining questions
“AI should build on a clear understanding of your business, strengthening what already works and improving what matters most.”

What You Can Expect

Clear direction for the decisions ahead, support through adoption, and a capability your business can carry forward.

A Clear Path Forward

A business wide, prioritized view of where AI can create value, what it requires, and the next best decision.

Executive Judgment When It Matters

I bring the analysis, options, and recommendation; you bring the knowledge of your business. Decisions move forward without taking focus from running it.

Implementation Your People Adopt

I stay through rollout, helping leadership make change practical and supporting employees as new ways of working take hold.

Momentum That Compounds

Each decision and its reasoning are recorded, giving the next decision a stronger starting point. Over time, AI becomes a consistent business capability.

Why Work With Kanani

Kanani Ching

AI tools are easy to buy. The consequential work is deciding which opportunities deserve the investment, how each one affects the rest of the business, and who owns it once it is running. Those are leadership decisions, and they need someone at the table who has made them before.

As your Fractional Chief AI Advisor, I bring more than 25 years of leading teams, strengthening operations, and building businesses, including overseeing Hawaiʻi’s largest real estate brokerage. I know that AI decisions cannot be separated from budgets, people, risk, and customer experience. I help leadership set priorities, put practical governance in place, and support employees as AI becomes part of everyday work.

That operating experience is paired with the MIT Sloan Executive Program, Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy, and the AI SPEED Method I developed for responsible implementation. The result is clear decisions, sustained adoption, and a capability your business can sustain.

FAQs

Three months. Toward the end of that term we review what has been accomplished and decide together whether to continue. Engagements that continue do so on a monthly basis.

The engagement is anchored by a recurring executive session, either 45 minutes each week or 90 minutes every other week, depending on how your leadership team prefers to work. Analysis and implementation continue between sessions.

You gain continuity of judgment: thoughtful guidance on the decisions in front of you from someone who retains the full context of your business, month after month, in support of sustainable business growth.

The workflows and processes we design reflect how your business truly operates, rather than forcing it into a standard template. Your people are involved as they take shape and learn to run them in practice. This is deliberate: the capability remains within your business, so your team can carry the work forward confidently after the engagement ends.

I define the business solution around your workflows, requirements, ownership, and success measures. Where constructing custom software or systems is needed, a qualified technical specialist delivers the build; I help keep the work aligned with the business needs.

Yes. Up to four of your designated people have a dedicated channel for questions and requests as they arise, so nothing has to wait for the next scheduled session.

That is a useful place to begin. One of our first steps is to understand what is already in place and the value it is creating for your business.

We establish a baseline, define the intended business measures, and review early evidence as the work moves forward. Where evidence is incomplete, we identify what needs to be tested or adjusted next

You receive a detailed written analysis of what has been implemented and decided, what has changed, where the business now stands, and the recommended next steps. It is structured as a practical record you can use in the way that best serves your business.

This is worth discussing on our call. Regulated and multi-entity businesses often have additional requirements, so we would work through what your particular situation calls for before beginning.

We discuss the investment on our call, once I have a clearer understanding of your business. The engagement is structured as a monthly retainer with an initial three month term, priced in line with senior advisory work.
